Minister Transport and Mass Transit Department, Government of Punjab Mr. Bilal Akbar is currently serving as Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Government of Punjab. He has been a member of Provincial Parliament since February 2024 and since then spear heading various initiatives in the province which include induction of electric buses into the mass transit fleet, introduction of electric 2-3 wheelers launching of vehicle inspection regime for 4 wheelers and establishing country’s first ever Road Safety Authority for Punjab. Mr. Akbar a finance graduate of Ohio State University, has been an entrepreneur.
As a Minister, he continues to play a vital role in shaping Punjab’s development, focusing on modernizing transportation, facilitating youth empowerment, and contributing to the economic progress of the province.
